Container
Maritime Transport
A large, standardized metal container used to transport goods by sea, rail, or road. Its standardized design allows it to be easily transferred from one mode of transport to another without handling the goods themselves.
Standard dimensions:
- 20 feet (TEU): 6.1 m long (market standard)
- 40 feet (FEU): 12.2 m long (most commonly used in containerized shipping)
- 40-foot High Cube (HC): same length but 30 cm taller, for bulky goods
